KUALA LUMPUR — Jalan Sultan Ismail will undergo a temporary closure from September 24 to 28 to facilitate the staging of the Autumn Music & Cultural Festival 2026, authorities announced on Tuesday.
The stretch of road in front of Sungei Wang Plaza in the heart of the capital's shopping district will be cordoned off during the festival period. The closure is expected to affect traffic flow in the busy commercial area, and commuters are urged to seek alternative routes.
The festival is expected to draw significant crowds to the venue, necessitating the road closure for safety and event management purposes. Organisers have advised the public to plan their journeys accordingly and allow additional travel time when navigating the surrounding streets.
Residents and workers in the vicinity are encouraged to familiarise themselves with alternative routes beforehand. The closure is temporary and normal traffic conditions are expected to resume once the festival concludes on September 28.
