Jayakumar takes helm of Sri Lanka-Thailand Society
K. Jayakumar, Managing Director of British India Hotels, has been unanimously elected president of the Sri Lanka-Thailand Society. The appointment was confirmed at the organisation's 29th Annual General Meeting in Colombo.

Jayakumar's election to lead the bilateral society was formally announced at the AGM held at the Grand Oriental Hotel in Colombo. The Thai Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Paitoon Mahapannaporn, attended the gathering alongside society members and other distinguished guests.
The Sri Lanka-Thailand Society functions as a cultural and diplomatic bridge between the two nations, fostering trade, cultural exchange and people-to-people connections. Jayakumar's appointment comes as both countries continue to strengthen their longstanding ties across multiple sectors.
As Managing Director of British India Hotels, Jayakumar brings extensive experience in hospitality and business management to his new role. His unanimous election reflects broad confidence among society members in his capacity to advance the organisation's mission during his tenure.
