Anant Singh, the JD(U) MLA from Bihar who faced expulsion on Saturday, struck a defiant tone regarding his departure from the regional party. Singh declared that the JD(U) faced an imminent political decline, asserting the party would be substantially weakened in future electoral contests.
The expelled legislator indicated he harboured no remorse over the party's decision to remove him for a six-year period, suggesting the disciplinary measure may have inadvertently accelerated discussions around his political future. Singh's comments underscored growing friction within the JD(U), which has positioned itself as a key player in Bihar politics alongside its alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Signaling potential moves beyond his current political affiliations, Singh hinted at the possibility of establishing his own political organization. Such a development could further fragment the JD(U)'s base in the state, particularly if Singh leverages his current political standing to build a rival platform. His statements have added to speculation about the stability of regional political alliances in Bihar ahead of forthcoming elections.
