JDU MLA Anant Singh on Monday expressed confidence in his party's performance in the ongoing Bihar Legislative Council elections, asserting that rival candidates are gaining ground in the contest.
Speaking ahead of the official results, Singh claimed that the opposition's political base has eroded significantly. "Neeraj Kumar's fortress has crumbled," Singh said, referring to his political rival.
The JDU leader projected that his party's candidates were securing victories across constituencies in the council elections. Singh's statements reflected the ruling coalition's expectations as votes were being counted in the electoral process.
The Bihar Legislative Council election has been closely watched as an indicator of political dynamics in the state ahead of broader electoral contests. The council poll traditionally sees competition between ruling and opposition alliances seeking representation in the upper house of the state legislature.
