The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) Combined Graduate Level examination has been cancelled in response to mounting pressure from protest groups demanding a thorough investigation into examination malpractices.
Devendra Nath Mahto, a key protest leader, ended his hunger strike following the government's decision to scrap the examination. However, his withdrawal from the fast does not signal an end to the broader agitation.
Ravindra Paswan, representing the JPSC-JSSC Reform Manch, the umbrella organization spearheading the protests, stated that the movement would persist until authorities accede to their primary demand. The group is pushing for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into alleged irregularities in the recruitment examination process.
The cancellation represents a significant concession from the state administration but falls short of meeting all protester demands. The JPSC-JSSC Reform Manch has indicated that without a CBI inquiry, the agitation will continue, maintaining pressure on the government to take stronger action against the suspected examination fraud.
