The Jharkhand High Court has issued a stay on orders cancelling the 11th, 12th and 13th cycles of JPSC civil service examinations and Food Safety Officer appointments, providing temporary relief to the state's recruitment process. However, agitation leaders say the judicial intervention does not address their underlying concerns about the examination system.
Devendra Nath Mahto, a prominent figure in the civil service examination reform movement, stated that protesters respect the court's decision while maintaining their original demands remain valid. The movement, which has drawn significant attention from aspirants across Jharkhand, has called for systemic changes to the recruitment process and examination framework.
Student groups affiliated with the JPSC and JSSC Reform Forum announced plans on Friday to escalate protests across 24 districts, including effigy burning demonstrations targeting Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The simultaneous actions across multiple districts signal the movement's growing organizational capacity and geographical reach.
The High Court's interim stay temporarily halts the implementation of the earlier cancellation orders, but leaves unresolved the deeper questions about examination reforms that have animated the protest movement. As legal proceedings continue, the reform groups have signalled their intention to maintain pressure on the state government through continued demonstrations.
