Babulal Marandi, the Leader of Opposition in Jharkhand, has levelled allegations that the state government is protecting influential people connected to alleged irregularities uncovered during a Criminal Investigation Department investigation into a competitive job examination.
Marandi's accusations come as the CID probe into the examination irregularities continues to unfold. The opposition leader has demanded that Chief Minister Hemant Soren's administration ensure impartial investigation into the matter without any bias toward the powerful.
In a pointed message to the government, Marandi urged the Chief Minister to refrain from taking actions that could force students and unemployed youth back onto the streets in protest. The statement reflects growing tensions over the handling of the examination irregularities controversy.
Marandi has also formally called for the case to be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation, arguing that a federal agency probe would ensure greater transparency and impartiality in investigating the alleged irregularities. He contended that a CBI inquiry is essential to restore public confidence in the examination process and the integrity of recruitment in the state.
