Jio-bp, the operating brand of Reliance BP Mobility Ltd, has entered into a strategic partnership with DRIVN, an electric vehicle leasing platform, to accelerate charging infrastructure development for India's commercial EV sector.
The memorandum of understanding signed on Tuesday combines DRIVN's expertise in commercial vehicle leasing with Jio-bp's established charging network to address the growing needs of fleet operators transitioning to electric mobility. The collaboration aims to support the expansion of commercial electric vehicles, including heavy-duty trucks and buses, across the country.
Under the partnership, the two companies will work to integrate Jio-bp's charging infrastructure with DRIVN's leasing platform, enhancing location discovery for fleet drivers and streamlining charging access. The initiative will also explore preferential pricing arrangements and customized EV charging solutions in key cities and along major highway corridors.
The partnership underscores the growing momentum in India's commercial EV adoption, with industry players combining complementary capabilities to address infrastructure gaps. As fleet operators accelerate their transition from traditional fuel to electric powertrains, integrated solutions connecting vehicle leasing with reliable charging networks are emerging as critical enablers for large-scale commercial electrification.
