Jio Payment Solutions opens cross-border payment gateway for Indian exporters

Jio Payment Solutions, a subsidiary of Jio Financial Services Limited, has rolled out a dedicated cross-border payments solution targeting India's export sector. The launch comes after the Reserve Bank of India granted the company authorisation to operate as a Payment Aggregator for Cross-Border transactions, marking a significant expansion of digital payment infrastructure in the country.

The platform is designed to facilitate seamless international payment processing for Indian exporters, reducing transaction friction and enabling faster settlement of cross-border trade. The RBI authorisation underscores regulatory confidence in the company's operational and compliance frameworks for handling foreign exchange transactions.

The initiative aligns with broader industry efforts to digitise India's trade finance ecosystem and reduce reliance on traditional banking channels. As India's export sector increasingly shifts toward digital payment solutions, platforms like this are expected to enhance competitiveness for small and medium-sized exporters entering international markets.

Jio Financial Services Limited, which operates under the Reliance Industries umbrella, has been expanding its fintech offerings in recent years. The cross-border payments gateway represents another step in the group's strategy to capture market share in India's growing digital financial services sector.
