JLM calls on government to maintain Anubhava Mantapa management

The Jana Lokshakti Movement (JLM) has submitted a formal appeal to government authorities requesting that state management of Anubhava Mantapa be preserved. The 16th-century philosophical and cultural centre, located in Hampi, Karnataka, holds significant historical importance as a seat of learning associated with the Lingayat tradition.

The organisation's intervention signals broader concerns within cultural circles about the institution's future governance. Anubhava Mantapa, which translates to 'hall of experience,' has operated under government oversight and has served as an important repository of Karnataka's philosophical and cultural heritage.

JLM representatives have emphasised that maintaining public administration of the institution is essential to ensure its accessibility and preservation for scholars, students, and cultural enthusiasts. The movement argues that government stewardship guarantees the site remains a public trust rather than subject to private interests.

The appeal reflects ongoing discussions about cultural institution management in the state, with JLM positioning itself as a custodian of Karnataka's historical legacy. The government has not yet formally responded to the organisation's request.
