Onn Hafiz, who chairs the state-owned investment institution, cautioned against what he termed the "twisting of facts" regarding JCorp's operations and any connection to the transboundary haze issue affecting the region.
The Menteri Besar's statement comes amid renewed scrutiny of Malaysian companies' land holdings and operations in Indonesia, particularly those in plantation and agricultural sectors that have periodically faced allegations of involvement in forest clearance activities.
JCorp, a major player in Johor's investment landscape, has diversified interests spanning multiple economic sectors. The corporation has maintained that its operations comply with environmental regulations and international standards.
The transboundary haze, which periodically affects Malaysia and other Southeast Asian nations, has been a recurring regional environmental concern. Authorities in both countries have worked to identify sources of forest fires and hold parties accountable for agricultural and land-clearing practices.
Onn Hafiz's statement represents JCorp's position in responding to public discourse surrounding corporate accountability and environmental stewardship in the region's critical natural resources sector.
