Johor Schools to Reopen Monday Following Air Quality Improvement

Naqib Md Ghazali, Johor's education executive councillor, confirmed that the decision to lift the closure order was based on the improving air quality situation. The reopening follows an extended suspension of classes and academic activities that affected schools throughout the state.

The API readings across Johor have shown consistent improvement over recent days, prompting authorities to determine that conditions are now safe for students and staff to return to learning facilities. The closure had been implemented as a precautionary measure to protect the health and wellbeing of the school community.

All educational institutions, including primary and secondary schools as well as higher learning facilities, are expected to resume normal operations from Monday. Parents and students are advised to adhere to standard operating procedures upon return to campus.

The state education department has urged all schools to implement additional monitoring protocols to ensure that air quality remains at safe levels. This decision reflects Johor's commitment to balancing public health concerns with the continuity of the academic calendar.
