Joo Chiat's business community is pooling resources to debut a car-free street festival on October 3, transforming the bustling heritage neighbourhood into a pedestrian-only zone from 3:30pm to 9:30pm. Close to 90 merchants across the precinct will activate their shophouses and street frontages with a diverse slate of activities designed to draw residents and visitors alike.
The inaugural event will feature fitness offerings including boxing and yoga sessions, complemented by a café trail showcasing local food and beverage establishments. By stepping outside their premises, participating businesses aim to foster community engagement while highlighting the vibrancy of the precinct's commercial offerings.
