Journalist bodies condemn police raids on reporter Ravi Nair's homes

The Delhi Union of Journalists (DUJ) and the Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) have condemned raids conducted by Gujarat police at the residences of investigative journalist Ravi Nair. The raids, which targeted his homes in Kerala, resulted in the seizure of two mobile phones and pen drives.
The police action follows a First Information Report registered against Nair in connection with a Washington Post report that he co-authored. The article reportedly drew scrutiny from Gujarat authorities, prompting the legal action against the journalist.
Both journalists' unions have raised concerns about the raids, characterizing them as an assault on press freedom and editorial independence. The incident comes amid broader concerns about the safety and working conditions of investigative journalists in the country.
