Joyalukkas wins Tamil Nadu gold gift tender for newborns

Joyalukkas has emerged as the successful bidder for Tamil Nadu's Rs 755-crore newborn gold scheme, securing the contract to distribute gold rings to approximately 4.42 lakh babies across the state. The jewellery chain quoted a nominal service charge of just one paisa per gram above the prevailing gold rate, making it the lowest bidder in the tender process.

The ambitious scheme, announced as a flagship initiative, aims to provide each newborn with a one-gram gold ring as a symbolic gift. The minimal service charge quoted by Joyalukkas demonstrates the competitive nature of the tender and the company's commitment to the state's welfare programme.

The contract represents a significant opportunity for the jeweller to expand its reach across Tamil Nadu while participating in a government-backed initiative. Joyalukkas, one of India's prominent jewellery retailers with a strong presence in South India, is expected to establish distribution mechanisms to ensure efficient delivery of the rings to beneficiaries across various districts.
