JSW MG launches Hector Tomahawk EV with 517km range in India

JSW MG Motor has begun customer deliveries of the Hector Tomahawk EV, marking the commercial launch of the automaker's latest electric sport utility vehicle. The company delivered 50 units of the new model in Surat in a single day, signalling strong initial demand for the vehicle.

The Hector Tomahawk EV is positioned as an affordable electric SUV option in the Indian market, with pricing starting at Rs 13.99 lakh under the battery-as-a-service financing model. This pricing structure allows customers to purchase the vehicle without the battery cost, making electric mobility more accessible to a broader consumer base.

The electric SUV offers a claimed driving range of 517 kilometres on a single charge, addressing range anxiety concerns among prospective EV buyers in India. The vehicle combines the practical dimensions and utility of the popular Hector nameplate with electric powertrain technology.

The launch reflects growing consumer interest in electric vehicles in India, particularly in the SUV segment where demand has remained robust. JSW MG Motor's battery-as-a-service approach aims to overcome cost barriers traditionally associated with electric vehicle adoption in the country.
