Jubilant Foodworks, the master franchisee for Domino's Pizza in India, reported a 12 per cent increase in quarterly revenue as the pizza delivery chain continues its aggressive expansion across the country. The Mumbai-listed company added 88 new stores during the quarter, underscoring its strategy to deepen market penetration in tier-2 and tier-3 cities alongside consolidating presence in metropolitan areas.
Like-for-like sales growth, a key metric of operational performance at existing outlets, stood at 4.1 per cent in the quarter compared with the same period last year. The modest comparable growth reflects broader headwinds in the quick-service restaurant sector as Indian consumers remain cautious amid inflationary pressures and volatile consumer spending patterns.
The expansion drive reflects Jubilant Foodworks' confidence in Domino's long-term growth potential in India's evolving food delivery market. The company has consistently prioritized volume growth through new unit openings, banking on improved unit economics and market maturation to drive profitability. Domino's remains the country's largest pizza chain by store count and delivery volumes.
Jubilant Foodworks also operates Imo's Pizza outlets and manages the Dunkin' brand in India through franchising arrangements. The company's overall performance remains tied to discretionary consumer spending and competitive pressures from other quick-service restaurant chains and aggregator platforms in the crowded food delivery ecosystem.
