Just Dial shares fall on weak Q2 earnings, margin pressures

Just Dial Ltd saw its stock price slip 6 per cent as investors reacted to the company's second quarter results for fiscal year 2027. The decline reflected disappointment over the platform's earnings trajectory and deteriorating profitability metrics during the July-September period.

The Mumbai-based classifieds and local search firm reported consolidated net profit of ₹107.8 crore for Q2FY27, marking a 9.73 per cent contraction compared to the same quarter last year. The earnings decline underscored mounting pressures on the company's financial performance amid competitive market dynamics.

Operational efficiency also came under strain, with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) margins contracting by 228 basis points to reach 26.4 per cent. The sharp margin compression reflected a combination of cost pressures and challenges in revenue growth, signalling headwinds for the business.

The disappointing quarter adds to concerns about Just Dial's ability to sustain profitability growth in a competitive digital classifieds landscape. Analysts will be watching closely for management commentary on cost management initiatives and strategies to reignite revenue momentum in coming quarters.
