Kamboj earns India Test call-up as Nabi overlooked again

Anshul Kamboj has secured his position in India's Test squad, receiving the nod ahead of Auqib Nabi in the ongoing competition for spinners. The selection comes as part of India's latest squad announcement for the upcoming Test assignments, signalling the selectors' preference for Kamboj's profile at this stage of the domestic season.

Kamboj's inclusion reflects his recent performances in domestic cricket and the confidence reposed in him by the national selection committee. The off-spinner has been a consistent performer in the Ranji Trophy and other First-Class competitions, demonstrating the kind of form that catches the selectors' attention.

Meanwhile, Nabi's continued exclusion marks another instance of the spin bowling contingent facing intense competition for limited spots in the Test squad. With India's spin attack typically featuring prominent players, newcomers and competing candidates must maintain exceptional standards to break into the national setup.

The selection process underscores the depth of talent available in Indian cricket, with multiple spinners vying for representation at the highest level. Kamboj's selection will provide him an opportunity to press his case further, while others, including Nabi, will look to strengthen their credentials through continued performances in domestic cricket.
