The Karnataka government has moved forward with prosecuting suspended IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar following Chief Minister's sanction for legal action in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) paper leak case. The officer faces allegations of abusing his administrative position to enable the circulation of examination materials.

According to the investigation, Gangwar allegedly orchestrated the leak of KPSC question papers and corresponding answer keys one day prior to the scheduled examination. The officer is accused of channeling the confidential materials through an intermediary identified as Basavaraj Kannale.

The case emerged as part of a broader probe into irregularities affecting the integrity of public sector recruitment examinations in Karnataka.
