Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will lead a Congress delegation to Delhi on October 12 to participate in protests against the Special Investigation Report, party sources confirmed on Wednesday.
The delegation will include multiple Congress legislators from the state who plan to join the demonstration in the national capital. The move reflects the Congress party's independent stance on the matter, even as various INDIA bloc partners have mounted their own protest campaigns.
When asked about the Congress's relationship to other ongoing protests on the issue, Shivakumar clarified that the party was pursuing its own distinct line of action. While some alliance partners within the broader INDIA bloc have already participated in separate protests, the Congress is mobilizing its own cadre and leadership to voice its concerns.
The October 12 protest marks a significant show of strength by the Congress at the national level, with senior state leadership traveling to Delhi to demonstrate party unity on the issue. The demonstration underscores growing tensions around the Special Investigation Report and the broader political contestation it has generated among opposition parties.
