Karnataka Congress to probe organisational failures after Council poll sweep loss

The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) will conduct a comprehensive review of organisational shortcomings after the party failed to secure any of the four Council seats contested in recent elections, party chief B.K. Hariprasad said on Wednesday.

The review will extend beyond electoral performance to assess how the State government has responded to concerns raised by teachers and graduates, Hariprasad stated. Key issues to be examined include job insecurity, systemic challenges within the education sector, and matters affecting the professional interests of these constituencies.

The decision reflects the party's intent to address internal deficiencies that may have contributed to the electoral setback. The KPCC chief indicated that the introspection would help identify gaps in party operations and communication with key voter groups.

The review assumes significance as the Congress-led government in Karnataka seeks to strengthen its position ahead of future electoral contests. Party officials are expected to engage with stakeholders across sectors to understand ground-level dissatisfaction and chart a course correction.
