Karnataka launches iPhone-compatible BMTC transit app for commuters

The upgraded Namma BMTC 2.0 application has been made available on iOS platforms, enabling iPhone users to access the state-run transport operator's digital services. Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar unveiled the enhanced app during a public event celebrating the Congress government's first hundred days in office across Karnataka.

The expansion to Apple's ecosystem represents a significant step in the transport corporation's digitization efforts, complementing existing Android availability. The upgraded platform aims to streamline bus booking and ticketing processes for residents of Bangalore and surrounding areas served by BMTC.

The move aligns with broader government initiatives to modernize public transportation infrastructure and improve commuter convenience through technology-enabled solutions. Digital ticketing applications have become increasingly central to urban mobility strategies across major Indian cities, offering commuters real-time route information and seamless payment options.

The Namma BMTC 2.0 update builds on earlier versions of the transport app, incorporating enhanced features and improved user interface design. The iOS launch extends the digital service reach to a broader segment of smartphone users in the region.
