Karnataka has unveiled an integrated mobility application designed to unify transport services across the state's major public transport operators. The 'One Karnataka' platform brings together the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC), and Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) on a single digital ecosystem.
The consolidation aims to enhance passenger convenience by allowing commuters to access booking and scheduling information for all four transport bodies through one application, rather than navigating separate platforms. This integration addresses longstanding fragmentation in Karnataka's public transportation landscape, where different corporations have operated independently across urban centres and regional routes.
BMTC serves Bengaluru's metropolitan area, while KSRTC operates intercity and long-distance routes across the state. NWKRTC covers northern regions and KKRTC serves the backward regions of Karnataka. The unified app represents a significant step toward modernizing the state's transport infrastructure and improving the user experience for millions of daily commuters across urban and semi-urban areas.
The platform is expected to streamline operations, reduce administrative redundancies, and provide state transport authorities with consolidated data on passenger patterns and service usage, potentially informing future expansion and optimization efforts.
