Karnataka Minister Denies Challenge to ED Over Overseas Investments

Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi on Wednesday rejected reports that he had issued a challenge to the Enforcement Directorate regarding his overseas investments, terming the claims as inaccurate.

In a video message, Jarkiholi stated that several newspapers had misrepresented his comments, reporting that he had thrown a challenge at the ED to substantiate his foreign assets. "This is far from the truth. I have never said that," the minister said in the clarification.

The statement came in the wake of recent ED searches linked to ongoing investigations. The minister's clarification attempts to distance himself from any provocative stance towards the federal agency, while asserting that his remarks have been misquoted by sections of the media.

Jarkiholi's video message represents an effort to control the narrative surrounding the ED proceedings and set the record straight on his position regarding the investigation and his financial disclosures.
