The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) has announced plans to deploy ₹100 crore towards upgrading its Mayura properties, a chain of state-run heritage hotels and resorts scattered across Karnataka. The modernisation initiative is designed to refresh ageing infrastructure and elevate the overall experience for domestic and international tourists visiting the properties.
Mayura hotels, operated under the KSTDC banner, are located at several key destinations across the state, including Bangalore, Mysore, Hampi, and other culturally significant locations. The capital investment will focus on refurbishing guest rooms, upgrading amenities, improving dining facilities, and enhancing the overall guest experience at these properties.
The upgrade initiative reflects the state's broader push to strengthen its tourism sector infrastructure. By modernising the Mayura chain, KSTDC aims to make these properties more competitive and attractive in an increasingly demanding hospitality market, while maintaining their heritage character and positioning them as quality mid-range accommodation options.
The investment is expected to be rolled out across multiple phases, with work beginning at priority properties within the network. Officials indicated that the upgrades would help increase occupancy rates and revenue generation across the KSTDC hotel portfolio, contributing to the state's tourism economy.
