Karnataka tourism body to roll out mobile food service at major destinations

The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) is set to introduce a mobile food service concept aimed at enhancing visitor experience at key tourist destinations across the state. The initiative, branded as 'Mayura Ruchi on Wheels', will see dedicated food vans deployed at high-footfall locations to serve travellers and sightseers.

In its first phase of expansion, KSTDC has identified several prominent destinations for the service rollout. These include the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hampi, the hill station of Madikeri, the scenic Jog Falls, Nandi Hills near Bengaluru, and Mysuru, among other significant tourist attractions in and around Bengaluru.

The move is expected to provide visitors with convenient access to quality food options at major tourist sites, while creating additional revenue streams for the state tourism body. The mobile food vans will offer a curated selection of local and regional cuisine, aligning with KSTDC's efforts to promote Karnataka's culinary heritage alongside its tourism offerings.

The phased launch approach will allow KSTDC to assess operational efficiency and visitor response before potential expansion to additional destinations. The initiative reflects the tourism corporation's strategy to modernize its services and improve the overall visitor experience at popular travel destinations across Karnataka.
