Authorities in Kashmir arrested a Pandit community activist following an investigation into the circulation of forged threat messages allegedly issued by militant groups including Soldiers of Resistance and United Liberation Council.

The investigation team determined that the threat messages were not genuine communications from any terrorist organization but had been deliberately fabricated and distributed by the accused. The doctored nature of the threats was established during preliminary inquiry into the matter.

Police have registered offences under relevant cyber law provisions against the activist based on their findings. The case underscores ongoing concerns about the misuse of digital platforms to spread false information, particularly regarding security-related matters in the region.

The arrested individual was produced before judicial authorities as the investigation proceeded. Officials indicated that further examination would determine the precise motive and extent of circulation of these fabricated messages.
