The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced a 48-hour suspension of water supply to several districts in Katugastota beginning Friday, October 6 at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until 9:00 a.m. on October 8. The interruption is necessary to facilitate essential maintenance work at the Katugastota Water Treatment Plant.
Residents in Uduwawala and surrounding neighborhoods have been advised to make adequate arrangements for the duration of the water cut. The NWSDB recommends storing sufficient water supplies in advance to meet household requirements during the two-day period.
The board stated that the maintenance work is critical for ensuring the continued reliability and quality of water supply to the region. Officials urged affected consumers to plan accordingly and noted that normal service would resume once the work is completed.
Residents requiring additional information about the water cut are advised to contact the NWSDB's customer service hotline.
