Kaziranga National Park, nestled in Assam's Nagaon and Golaghat districts, has formally reopened for the new tourist season, signalling the return of wildlife tourism to the region after the monsoon months. The park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its population of Indian rhinoceroses, has launched jeep safari operations to facilitate visitor access across its vast terrain.

The reopening marks a significant moment for Assam's tourism sector, as Kaziranga draws thousands of domestic and international visitors annually to experience its rich biodiversity. The park is home to a substantial concentration of the world's one-horned rhino population, along with elephants, tigers, and numerous bird species that attract nature enthusiasts throughout the season.

Jeep safaris, which offer guided tours through designated zones of the park, are now operational for visitors seeking wildlife experiences. Authorities have indicated that elephant rides, another popular tourist attraction at Kaziranga, will commence following the completion of necessary preparations.

The reopening of Kaziranga comes as part of the annual tourism calendar, with the dry season typically providing optimal conditions for wildlife viewing and visitor access to the park's interior regions.
