KEC International, a leading player in power infrastructure, has clinched a fresh bundle of orders valued at Rs 1,014 crore for transmission and distribution (T&D) systems in India, bolstering its order book for the financial year.

The contract portfolio represents a strategic win for the company, particularly through its maiden venture into ultra-high voltage (765 kV) transmission line projects. The flagship assignment involves evacuating power generated from a pumped storage hydroelectric facility located in western India, a sector that has emerged as critical for India's renewable energy transition and grid stability.

The 765 kV transmission line contract underscores KEC International's technical capabilities in handling complex, large-scale power evacuation infrastructure. Such high-voltage transmission systems are essential for efficiently transporting bulk power over long distances with minimal losses, supporting India's ambitious renewable energy generation targets.

Beyond the transmission milestone, the order composition includes additional distribution contracts that reinforce KEC International's position across the entire T&D value chain. The awards demonstrate the company's competitive strength in securing domestic infrastructure projects amid growing investments in India's power sector upgrades.

These orders come at a time when India is accelerating its grid infrastructure modernization to accommodate rising renewable energy capacity and meet growing electricity demand across the country.
