Kerala approves J.C. Daniel film city project in Ambalamugal

The Kerala government has given its approval for the J.C. Daniel film city project, a major initiative aimed at bolstering the state's cinema industry infrastructure. The facility will be developed at the Kinfra Petrochemicals Park in Ambalamugal, utilising approximately 30 acres of land for the development.

The ambitious project carries an estimated cost of ₹100 crore and will be implemented through a public-private partnership arrangement. The funding and operational structure will allow for collaborative involvement between government and private sector entities, ensuring efficient resource management and expertise sharing.

The government is set to initiate tender proceedings in the coming weeks to finalise the design framework for the film city. These tenders will outline technical specifications, architectural standards, and implementation timelines for the proposed facility.

Once operational, the film city is expected to provide state-of-the-art production facilities for the Malayalam film industry, potentially attracting filmmakers and production houses to the region. The project aligns with broader efforts to develop Kerala's media and entertainment sector while generating employment opportunities in the state.
