The Kerala Legislative Assembly has scheduled a nine-day session starting October 12 to deliberate on two bills as per the approved legislative calendar. The session will focus on the Kerala Court Fees and Suits Valuation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, alongside the Madras Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (Amendment) Bill, 2026. Both measures are slated for consideration during the scheduled sitting period. The court fees bill seeks to amend existing provisions governing fee structures and valuation procedures for civil suits in Kerala courts. The second bill pertains to amendments in regulations governing Hindu religious institutions and charitable endowments, a significant matter given the prominence of temple management and religious charitable work across the state. The nine-day session duration provides sufficient time for the assembly to debate and potentially pass both legislative items. With the session spanning nearly two weeks, lawmakers will have opportunity for detailed examination of the proposed amendments before proceeding to voting.
