Kerala BJP urges President to act on KPSC irregularities

The Kerala BJP team submitted a memorandum to the President requesting her to consider the findings and recommendations of former Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar regarding alleged irregularities within the State Public Service Commission. The delegation specifically sought action against KPSC Chairman M.R. Baiju and other commission members implicated in the matter.

The party has framed the issue as one of institutional accountability and governance standards. According to the BJP's submission, the former Governor's report had identified procedural and administrative lapses that warranted corrective action at the senior levels of the commission.

The KPSC, a constitutional body responsible for recruiting civil servants and other officials in Kerala, has faced scrutiny in recent months over its functioning. The move by the BJP delegation represents an escalation of the party's campaign on the issue, bringing the matter to the highest constitutional authority.

The memorandum handed to the President seeks her intervention as the appointing authority for the KPSC leadership. The outcome will likely depend on the legal merit of the allegations and the procedural framework governing such removals under constitutional provisions.
