Kerala Blasters start ISL 2026 campaign with commanding 2-0 win

Kerala Blasters made a strong start to their ISL 2026 campaign, defeating Inter Kashi 2-0 in their opening fixture. The Blasters took control of proceedings from the outset, with midfielder Freddy Lallawmawma testing the opposition defence with a long-range attempt in the fifth minute.

Inter Kashi responded with attempts of their own, as Rosenberg Gabriel and Manvir Singh both created chances early in the contest. However, Kerala's goalkeeper Arsh Shaikh remained resolute in goal, denying Gabriel's effort from the left side of the box.

The decisive breakthrough came in the 18th minute when Vibin Mohanan converted from close range. Korou Singh played a crucial role in the move, providing the assist for Mohanan to finish with a right-footed strike from the centre of the box, giving Kerala the advantage heading into the break.

The Blasters continued to dominate after the interval, maintaining their attacking intensity as they searched for a second goal. Their pressure eventually told when Andre Green added Kerala's second in stoppage time, sealing a commanding victory on the opening day of the season.
