Kerala cash scandal widens as ministers named in CMRL probe
Fresh allegations have emerged that Kerala's Chief Minister and other senior cabinet members received funds linked to the controversial CMRL-Exalogic case, complicating an ongoing investigation into the former Chief Minister's family.

The alleged involvement of current Kerala government ministers in the CMRL-Exalogic financial controversy has added a new layer of complexity to an already contentious investigation, sources said Thursday.
Accusations surfaced that Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala, Health Minister K. Muraleedharan, and other political figures may have received money connected to the case. The timing of these allegations coincides with the state government's planned notification establishing a special investigation team to examine findings by the Enforcement Directorate against former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter T. Veena, and her husband P.A. Mohamed Riyas in a separate money laundering investigation.
The overlapping claims present significant legal and political challenges for both investigating agencies and the government. The emergence of allegations against sitting ministers while a probe into the previous administration proceeds threatens to deepen political tensions and raises questions about the scope and direction of ongoing inquiries.
Government officials have not yet responded to the fresh allegations. The establishment of the special investigation team is expected to clarify the ED's findings and determine the extent of any broader involvement in the matter.
