Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has alleged that the opposition UDF government is pursuing an RSS-aligned agenda, while defending controversial KIIFB projects in Kannur. The CPI(M) leader said his party is central to uniting secular and democratic forces nationally against what he termed the BJP's ideological direction.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday accused the United Democratic Front of advancing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's ideological agenda within the state, intensifying his party's political offensive against the opposition alliance.
Vijayan's remarks come as the CPI(M)-led government faces scrutiny over Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board projects in Kannur district. The Chief Minister defended the KIIFB initiatives, positioning them as development initiatives distinct from what he characterized as the UDF's ideological alignment.
The CPI(M) leader reiterated his party's role in orchestrating a broader democratic coalition at the national level, aimed at countering what he described as the RSS agenda pursued by the BJP-led Union government. Vijayan underscored the communist party's positioning as a bulwark of secular and democratic values in Indian politics.
The accusations reflect escalating tensions between Kerala's ruling and opposition coalitions, with the CPI(M) seeking to frame political disputes through an ideological lens. The party has consistently linked state-level opposition parties to what it terms a communal political framework operating at the national level.
