Kerala CM blames CPI(M) for instigating clashes during anti-BJP protests

The Kerala government has leveled serious accusations against the CPI(M), alleging the party deliberately instigated clashes between Youth Congress and Students' Federation of India (SFI) activists during protests targeting the BJP. Chief Minister's Office sources suggested the ruling communist party was orchestrating the violence as a means to disrupt opposition demonstrations in the state.

Opposition Leader V.D. Satheesan questioned the CPI(M)'s response to anti-BJP protests, asking why the ruling alliance partner appeared distressed by demonstrations against the saffron party. His comments came in the backdrop of violent incidents between the two youth wings during recent street mobilizations across Kerala.

The allegation underscores deepening political friction in Kerala, where the Left-Congress coalition government faces mounting pressure from both the BJP and internal tensions. Such accusations of provocative conduct during protests are not uncommon in the state's contentious political landscape, where demonstrations frequently turn confrontational.

The incidents have intensified scrutiny of policing during political protests in Kerala, with opposition parties demanding independent investigation into the clashes. The CPI(M) has not yet publicly responded to the government's allegations regarding its role in the confrontations.
