Kerala CM sets new public access schedule at Secretariat

Kerala's Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan has announced a structured schedule for public audiences at the Secretariat, effective from September 2. The initiative establishes fixed meeting hours for visitors seeking to meet the Chief Minister, streamlining what was previously an informal arrangement.

Members of the public will have access to Satheesan on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—excluding public holidays—between 3 pm and 5:30 pm. The designated time slots are intended to ensure orderly management of visitor traffic while maintaining accessibility to the state's chief executive.

The decision reflects the government's commitment to open governance and direct citizen engagement. By institutionalizing the public audience system, the Secretariat aims to make the process more predictable and equitable for those wishing to raise concerns or matters directly with the Chief Minister.

The schedule does not apply on public holidays falling on the designated meeting days, allowing for flexibility around the state's holiday calendar.
