The Kerala High Court has issued directions to the state government to decide on the formation of an expert panel to probe alleged irregularities in the digital re-survey equipment procurement process. The judicial intervention comes following a petition filed by Congress leader Shaji J. Kodankandath, who raised concerns about tender-related anomalies in the digital survey initiative. According to the petition, the irregularities in equipment tenders have resulted in an estimated loss of ₹150 crore to the state exchequer. The court's directive seeks to ensure transparency and accountability in the procurement process linked to the state's digital re-survey project. The state government is now required to formally consider and communicate its decision regarding the establishment of such an expert committee within a specified timeframe.
