Kerala High Court Reserves Order in CMRL-Exalogic Case Against CM Pinarayi

The Kerala High Court has reserved its judgment on a contentious plea demanding the registration of a first information report against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena Vijayan, and Riyas in the CMRL-Exalogic financial transaction case.

Justice A. Badharudeen, who heard arguments in the matter, reviewed materials that the Enforcement Directorate had provided to the State Police Commissioner. During the proceedings, the judge made oral observations noting that the decision to conduct a preliminary inquiry before registering an FIR would need to be examined on a case-specific basis rather than through a blanket approach.

The case centres on allegations relating to transactions involving Cochin Minerals and Rare Earths Limited (CMRL) and Exalogic, with the ED having investigated potential financial irregularities. The petition before the court seeks compulsory FIR registration based on the ED's findings.
