Kerala High Court to hear Vijayan's appeal in CMRL-Exalogic case

A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court will hear arguments from former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his relatives against a First Information Report order in the controversial CMRL-Exalogic matter on October 26.

The case has undergone multiple procedural turns. A Single Bench of the High Court had previously issued an order against which Vijayan sought appellate relief. However, a Division Bench declined to grant permission for an appeal against the Single Bench's decision, effectively closing that avenue.

Challenging this outcome, Vijayan approached the Supreme Court of India, which intervened by staying the Division Bench order for seven days. The apex court directed that the matter be reconsidered by the High Court on its merits, providing the former Chief Minister another opportunity to present his case.

The October 26 hearing represents the High Court's fresh consideration of Vijayan's petition against the FIR order. The CMRL-Exalogic case has been a significant legal matter in Kerala involving allegations related to the Cochin Metro Rail Limited and the IT company Exalogic.
