Kerala Lalithakala Akademi sets sights on global art platform expansion

The Kerala Lalithakala Akademi, the state's premier arts academy, has charted a fresh course under its new office-bearers, announcing a comprehensive action plan aimed at strengthening its institutional presence and expanding the reach of Kerala's vibrant art scene beyond regional boundaries.

The initiative focuses on modernizing and rejuvenating the academy's gallery spaces, which are central to its mission of showcasing artistic talent. By upgrading exhibition infrastructure and curatorial practices, the institution aims to create dynamic platforms that can attract both domestic and international art audiences.

A key component of the new strategy involves providing enhanced support and visibility to established and emerging master artists from Kerala. The academy plans to facilitate greater collaboration between local artists and national institutions, while also exploring partnerships that could facilitate international exhibitions and cultural exchanges.

The action plan reflects a broader institutional commitment to position Kerala's rich artistic traditions within the contemporary global art landscape. Through these initiatives, the Lalithakala Akademi seeks to establish itself as a gateway for Kerala's cultural contributions to reach wider audiences, while simultaneously strengthening the ecosystem that supports artists within the state.
