Kerala launches digital enrolment portal for Non-Resident Keralites scheme

The Kerala government has rolled out a dedicated digital enrolment platform for its Non-Resident Keralites (NRK) Care scheme, streamlining access to health and accident insurance for overseas Keralites. The web portal and upgraded mobile application eliminate geographical barriers, allowing diaspora members to manage their policies from any location worldwide.

Existing scheme members can now renew their health and accident insurance coverage through the online platform, while prospective beneficiaries have until November 30, 2026 to submit fresh applications. The digital interface is designed to simplify administrative processes and reduce documentation requirements for NRKs seeking insurance protection.

The initiative reflects Kerala's efforts to strengthen welfare provisions for its significant overseas population. By transitioning to a digital-first approach, authorities aim to enhance accessibility and efficiency in policy management, particularly for those residing outside India who face challenges with traditional paperwork-based systems.

The updated mobile application complements the web portal, offering a convenient alternative for NRKs who prefer smartphone-based access. Both platforms provide real-time status updates on applications and renewals, addressing common concerns about transparency and processing timelines in government welfare schemes.
