Kerala minister vows firm action over Sabarimala prasad shortage

Kerala's Devaswom Minister has escalated efforts to address supply constraints affecting the preparation of aravana, the traditional prasad distributed to devotees at the renowned Sabarimala shrine in Pathanamthitta district. The minister indicated willingness to take forceful action against the Travancore Devaswom Board, the autonomous body managing the temple, should the situation persist.

To tackle the issue directly, the minister has appointed a dedicated Additional District Magistrate tasked with investigating the temple's inventory management. The official is expected to visit Sabarimala to conduct a comprehensive audit of raw material stocks utilized in prasad preparation, seeking to identify supply chain bottlenecks and operational inefficiencies.

The aravana shortage has drawn significant attention given Sabarimala's status as one of South India's most visited pilgrimage destinations, attracting millions of devotees annually. The temple's prasad distribution is considered integral to the pilgrimage experience, making supply reliability crucial during peak devotional seasons.
