The Kerala government has activated an emergency response mechanism to assist its citizens caught in the wake of severe flooding across Nepal. The NoRKA Global Contact Centre has been designated as the primary point of contact for Keralites seeking immediate assistance in the neighboring country.
Those requiring help can reach the helpline toll-free at 1800 425 3939 within India or place a missed call to +91 88020 12345 from abroad. The service has been established to coordinate rescue and relief operations while providing real-time guidance to stranded individuals and their families.
The helpline will facilitate communication between affected Keralites and government authorities, helping to locate missing persons, arrange safe passage, and coordinate with diplomatic missions. The NoRKA department has also been coordinating with central government agencies to ensure swift response to emergency situations.
Keralites constitute a significant portion of Indian expatriates in Nepal, working across various sectors including education, healthcare, and hospitality.
