The Kerala Police Department has formalised a strategic partnership with Cyble, a prominent cybersecurity solutions provider, under a three-year agreement aimed at strengthening the state's capacity to investigate and combat cybercrime. The pact represents a significant step in modernising the police force's digital investigation infrastructure amid rising incidents of online fraud and data breaches across India.
Under the agreement, Cyble will furnish Kerala Police with real-time threat intelligence, investigative support tools and comprehensive officer training programmes. The focus areas include addressing ransomware attacks, phishing schemes, artificial intelligence-enabled fraud, and other sophisticated cyber threats that have increasingly targeted individuals and organisations across the country.
The partnership addresses a critical gap in India's cybercrime response capabilities at the state level. As digital threats evolve in complexity and scale, law enforcement agencies have increasingly sought collaborations with private sector cybersecurity firms to access specialised expertise and technological resources necessary for effective investigations.
Officer training under the initiative will equip Kerala Police personnel with technical knowledge required to identify, document and prosecute cyber offences. The intelligence-sharing component will enable the department to proactively detect emerging threat patterns and respond more swiftly to reported incidents.
The agreement reflects a broader trend among Indian police departments to leverage public-private partnerships in combating cybercrime, a challenge that has intensified with rapid digitalisation across the financial, healthcare and government sectors.
