Kerala to complete disaster relief projects for landslide survivors on time

Kerala's Agriculture Minister T. Siddique has reiterated the state government's commitment to completing all rehabilitation projects for survivors of the Mundakkai-Chooralmala landslides without delay. The minister said that the comprehensive reconstruction effort encompasses multiple dimensions of support for affected communities.

Compensation packages for traders and building owners who suffered financial losses in the disaster will be processed and distributed according to the established schedule, Siddique stated. The government is simultaneously working to assume outstanding loan obligations of affected individuals, thereby relieving them of accumulated debt burdens resulting from the natural calamity.

Beyond immediate financial relief, the state is prioritizing the restoration of agricultural land to cultivable condition. This longer-term initiative aims to help farming communities return to productive activity and rebuild their livelihoods. The Agriculture Minister's assurance reflects the government's multi-pronged approach to addressing the varied needs of survivors across economic sectors.
