Kerala Public Works Minister P.K. Basheer announced plans for a high-level meeting involving MLAs and the Speaker to chart out a comprehensive development strategy for MC Road. The project represents a significant infrastructure initiative for the state capital region.

According to Basheer, the road development scheme will necessitate the acquisition of at least 100 hectares of private land. The minister indicated that substantial budgetary allocation would be required to execute the project effectively.

The proposed development plan carries an estimated budget of ₹5,000 crore, reflecting the scale and complexity of the undertaking. Basheer's announcement suggests the project has moved beyond preliminary discussions and is entering a detailed planning phase involving key political stakeholders.
