Kerala to fast-track doctor recruitment for coastal research centre
Kerala's fisheries minister has announced priority recruitment of medical professionals for the Central Coastal Research Centre (CCRC), with a dedicated board established to expedite the hiring process.

A recruitment board has been constituted to fill vacancies at the Central Coastal Research Centre, Kerala's fisheries minister Abdul Gafoor said, signalling the state's commitment to operationalising the facility at the earliest.
The minister stated that required staff will be recruited on a priority basis to ensure the centre becomes fully functional. The announcement comes as part of efforts to strengthen Kerala's coastal research infrastructure and marine resource management capabilities.
The CCRC, designed to support fisheries research and coastal development initiatives, has been pending complete staffing. Medical and technical personnel are among the priority positions being filled through the newly constituted board.
Once fully operational, the centre is expected to enhance research capabilities in coastal management and support the state's fisheries sector with evidence-based policy inputs. The recruitment timeline and specific number of positions to be filled are expected to be announced shortly by the state fisheries department.
